Toronto, ON., June 8, 2010 - Honey Badger Exploration Inc. (TSX.V:TUF “Honey Badger” or the “Company”) announces drilling has commenced on its Blackjack copper project, located in the historic Yerington copper camp of Nevada. The Blackjack property is west of, and immediately adjacent to, PacMag’s Blue Hills target on the Ann Mason property. The Blackjack encompasses approximately 4,250 hectares (10,500 acres) and Honey Badger’s joint-venture option agreement partner for the property, Entrée Gold (TSX:ETG; NYSE Amex:EGI “Entrée”), is the operator.
The planned drilling at Blackjack consists of seven drill holes totaling 2,800 metres (including reverse circulation ("RC") pre-collars in two holes). Five diamond holes will test the area of high copper in soil located immediately west of PacMag’s Blue Hills copper oxide discovery. Two holes will test the strong AirMt anomaly located at the northeast corner of the claim block.
The upcoming drilling, along with the geophysics (induced polarization) and soil geochemical sampling that was undertaken and used as the basis for the selection of the drill targets, is part of the US$1.1 million exploration budget approved for the Blackjack property by Entrée.
The Yerington district, with historical copper production of approximately 1.8 billion pounds of copper, is presently one of the most active base metal exploration areas in the USA, with programs underway by Nevada Copper Corp. and Quaterra Resources Inc.
Honey Badger’s existing agreement with Entrée Gold, coupled with their pending PacMag acquisition, gives Honey Badger a presence in one of the major copper camps in North America. The combination of excellent location, excellent infrastructure, significant resources and long mining history makes Yerington an attractive investment location.
